There are more connected devices on earth than there are people. According to Transforma Insights, in 2030 there will be three times more than now: more than 25 billion.
The Internet of Things, also known by its acronym IOT, is more than the sum of its parts. It is orchestrating data from sensors and networks to interpret them, make decisions and anticipate what might happen.
But, what impact does IOT have and will it have on our day to day life? Will it affect all sectors of our economy in the same way?
For McKinsey & Company, the answer is clear: the industrial environment will represent the greatest potential economic value of IOT in 2030, making up a 26% of the total and more than $3 billion.
“The business model is time, and its conditions are interoperability and security”, explains Carlos Suárez, Managing Partner of iPg. “The IIOT, Industrial Internet of Things, unlocks the value potential of time by maximizing efficiency and improve decision making.
To understand the growth of this sector, a highly recommended event is the IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the largest international congress dedicated to the transformation of the industry through disruptive technologies.

The IOTSWC 2022 brought together more than 300 exhibitors and 200 speakers at Fira Barcelona. Companies such as Amazon Web Services, Huawei or Siemens, among others, presented the latest innovations in IOT digital transformation there.
The iPg LABS team collaborated with ACCIÓ, an agency of the Generalitat de Catalunya, to facilitate the creation of networks between local and global players in industry 4.0.
We jointly organize Tech Tours focused on the interests of the more than 100 Catalan companies attending, to whom we present the cutting-edge technologies that shape the way things will be manufactured in the future.

More than 50% of the attendees considered it probable or very probable that the solutions visualized will generate future alliances and business collaborations.
See you next year!
